At BMoA we believe that art makes life better.

For over 60 years, Bakersfield Museum of Art has stood strong as one of Bakersfield’s premier cultural institutions.

BMoA is the southern Central Valley’s only American Alliance of Museums (AAM) accredited destination for visual art exhibitions, art-based educational opportunities, and art-centered community events. 

Our goal is to bring diverse visual arts experiences to our community.

Donations support

  • the care and maintenance of our permanent collection that presents a survey of art produced in and about California;

  • the production of art-centered events like Via Arté for people of all ages and abilities;

  • the development of art education programs for children and adults.
